I was born in Atlanta, and grew up listening to jazz and classical music. In high school I gained many honors as one of the best trumpeters in the state and before I had reached high school I was invited to perform with the local Orchestra as a guest trumpeter. I also grew as a jazz musician and in my sophomore year of high school I was selected as the lead jazz trumpet player for the All-State Jazz Ensemble in Georgia. That year I was also awarded the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. These accomplishments enabled me to further my studying in jazz and trumpet performance at Georgia State University. While at Georgia State I studied privately with one of the best trumpet players in Atlanta, Doctor Gordon Vernick, Director of Jazz Studies at GSU. and performed around Atlanta with the renowned Georgia State Jazz Band. I also studied with professional orchestra players. While in college I had the privileged of taking master classes with some of the great trumpet players including Bobby Shew, Jon Faddis, Chris Martin and Maynard Ferguson. I have Performed at many Atlanta venues including Center Stage Theatre, Cafe 290, Twains, and Piedmont Park. In 2011, performed at the prestigious Atlanta Jazz Festival. I currently play trumpet professionally around Atlanta, playing with several bands, freelancing and doing studio recording.
