I have been tutoring English and writing for over a decade. I earned a master's degree at Auburn University Montgomery in English, and a Ph.D. in English at the University of Georgia. During my education, I have taught courses in American Literature and English Composition, and I worked steadily as a tutor throughout. I have tutored students at all stages of their education from elementary schoolers to collegiate students. I am comfortable tutoring subjects including grammar, usage, phonics, reading, writing, and literature. I am also able to assist students with preparation for standardized testing and advanced English subject exams like the ACT, SAT, SSAT, IB English, and AP English. I have a passion for the English language, and I truly enjoy helping other students succeed in achieving their goals. As a tutor, I assess each student's abilities and learning styles before creating a unique tutoring plan. By working with methods aligned with the student's preferred learning style, I assist students in reaching their goals by creating a positive, respectful environment. I also teach students to improve their study skills and organization techniques, which increases their chances of success in all future courses. In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading, listening to music, and spending time with my friends.
